Emma Brown

emma 3Hi, I’m Emma Brown. I’m an Us Girls Doorstep Sport Advisor in the North East and also Community Sports Manager for Hat-Trick, a sports charity based in the west end of Newcastle. I’m setting up this blog to show the great work going on around the country getting more women and girls involved in sport. I want to use this blog to share ideas and talk about the problems faced when trying to encourage participation in women and girls sports. In my experience there’s loads of things that stop women and girls taking part; like lack of self confidence, body image and commitments such as exams, child care and summer holidays.

I’ve found ways to overcome some of these things by changing the way we work to suit the women and girls we work with, I’m sure other projects have also successfully introduced new ideas and this is what I want us all to share via this blog.

I look forward to hearing from you because it’s great to hear new ideas and trying new ways to get more women and girls involved in sport.
